Shari Plantz-Masters

Anderson College of Business and Computing
Dr. Shari Plantz-Masters, Academic Dean of the Anderson College of Business and Computing at Regis University in Denver, has broad experience in industry and academia. Dr. Plantz-Masters worked at the Research and Development Labs of US WEST where she directed engineering teams that designed and deployed network-based products including Voice Messaging, and Internet based products including early Business Video Network Applications such as Video Conferencing and Switched Video services. Before taking on the role of Vice President of Network Planning with the responsibilities for the US WEST Public Switched Network, Dr. Plantz-Masters led the marketing team that developed conferencing services for US WEST.

Prior to joining the Regis University faculty, Dr. Plantz-Masters ran a management consulting firm in which she provided project management leadership for Software Development organizations. She was appointed the founding Academic Dean of the College of Computer & Information Sciences in May 2015. Her research interests focus on the impact of technology on people, organizations and societies. She spearheaded the creation of the Center for Common Good Computing that brings together industry, government, and academia to focus on closing the tech talent gap in the industry and on applying tech for the betterment of society.

Shari holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science and master's in telecommunications from the University of Colorado and a Ph.D. in Educational technology from the University of Northern Colorado.
