Sarah Dimson

Sarah Dimson spearheads Power Africa’s effort to facilitate cleaner power transactions to financial close throughout sub-Saharan Africa. She identifies and develops solutions for private sector companies interested in doing business in Sub-Saharan Africa’s dynamic electricity sector with a focus on grid-connected transactions. Ms. Dimson works across a broad array of stakeholders to track and analyze existing deal flow and advance new business development opportunities. In addition to working directly with several of Power Africa’s private sector partners, Ms. Dimson also serves as Power Africa’s Africa’s technical manager for programs with the International Finance Corporation and leads strategic work to scale up new solar PV generation.

 

Ms. Dimson joined the Power Africa Coordinator’s Office in 2014, bringing over ten years of management and consulting experience in the energy sector.  She has consulted for the World Bank Group’s Africa Energy Division, managed the development of energy efficient and climate responsible real-estate projects in the U.S. and South Asia, and analyzed operational strategies for private sector companies through a career in management consulting.

 

Ms. Dimson holds a master’s degree in City Planning-International Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Science, Technology and Society from Stanford University.
