Dr. Kate Steel has a long career in the off-grid power sector, most recently as Energy Director for Power Africa. Prior to Power Africa, Dr. Steel was on the Energy Access and Investments team at Google and was manager of the World Bank-IFC Lighting Africa initiative.

 

Kate holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Engineering in Development Technologies from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
