Wyoming State House of Representatives

Rep. James Byrd is a member of the Wyoming State House of Representatives, since 2008. A former minority Whip, he has been a member of various committees including  Corporations, Elections and Political Subdivisions, Management Council, Minerals, Business and Economic Development, Select Committee on Capital Financing & Investments, and Select Committee on Legislative Facilities, Technology and Process.  He also served as Minority Caucus Chair, from 2015-2016.

Rep Byrd worked an exploration geophysicist technician for Compagnie Générale de Géophysique and British Petroleum Amoco.  Later he served as a network systems Analyst for various companies including computer network Services LLC and Computer Shop.   He now serves as a Senior Network/System Analyst of Byrd Companies, LLC,  DBA Computer Shop-BiT, a company he founded in 2006.

Rep. James Byrd attended Laramie County Community College and got degrees in Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science and Psychology from the University of Wyoming.
