David Renné
President, International Solar Energy Society
Since 1991, Renné developed and managed programs on renewable energy resource assessment and analysis, and the integration of resource data into GIS at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He retired from NREL in 2012 and now holds an Emeritus position there. His consulting firm, Dave Renne Renewables, provides support to both the public and private sector in planning and developing domestic and international renewable energy programs.
Renné has been President of the International Solar Energy Society since 2010. He continues to serve as an Associate Editor of the Solar Energy Journal in the field of solar resource assessment.
Renné’s other current professional activities include a Senior Consultant to Clean Power Research, a small U.S. Company that develops resource assessment and analytical software tools to support large-scale grid connected solar energy systems, and a Consultant to the World Bank’s Energy Sector Management Assistance Program’s (ESMAP)’s Resource Mapping Project.
