Carol Carter is a national and international student success author, speaker, corporate veteran, entrepreneur, and community leader. At the college level, her Keys to Success series has been read by more than 1,000,000 students and has been translated into Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, and Canadian editions. She began her career in corporate America and became an executive at age 26 and a V.P. at Pearson Education at age 30. After 17 years in corporate America, Carol founded LifeBound, a student success company that publishes books and conducts trainings in academic coaching skills in the United States and internationally. Through LifeBound, Carol has published twelve books to improve the pipeline from 5th-12th grade for our students, especially those who are low-income.

In 2014, Carol founded GlobalMindED, a 501©3 organization that holds an annual conference convening leaders in education, government, business, and social enterprise committed to making a world of difference through creating a capable, diverse talent pipeline. In addition to the annual conference, there are six GlobalMindED Collaborative pilot programs in place at various universities. GlobalMindED’s bold goal is to have 25,000,000 First Generation students, graduates, and those who work with them connected and resourcing each other with educational, job, and promotion opportunities by 2025. Carol’s business experience and her international work provide a unique perspective on how we can prepare students to thrive as learners, professionals, and global citizens.

 

An innovator in student leadership and world-class skills, Carol has been the guest in over 50 countries and has worked with schools and associations as a keynote speaker in many of these locations. She has given workshops and keynote speeches for international education organizations in Asia, Australia, Africa, New Zealand, and the Tri Association Conference serving Mexico, the Caribbean and northern South America. Carol promotes a global perspective emphasizing leadership, critical and creative thinking and successful intelligence.
